Abstract

N-(alpha-thenoyl)-L-cysteines of formula (I) are new (where R is H or 1-8C alkyl, R1 is alpha-thenoyl or carboxymethyl). Specifically claimed are N,S-di-(alpha-thenoyl)-L-cysteine methyl ester and S-carboxymethyl-N-(alpha-thenoyl)-L-cysteine. The cpds. (I) are active against bronchitis.
