Abstract

The agricultural machine for selectively applying a liquid to crops, has a long roller (2) with a porous sheet (5) resting on top, acting as the liquid distributor. The machine then applies the liquid to the taller plants to prevent their growth. The liquid is supplied through a set of nozzles (7) connected by flexible tubes (8) to a tank (9) overhead. There is a main supply valve (23) at the junction with all the tubes, and a separate squeeze valve at each nozzle. All the nozzles are attached to a horizontal beam (10) which is reciprocated by a chain drive (12, 13) connected toa ratchet mechanism (14, 18) at one end. This is connected by a crank arm (20) to the drive (21) for the roller itself.
