Abstract

Procédé pour récupérer le soufre à partir de gaz contenant d'environ 1 à 10 % en volume d'hydrogène sulfuré par oxydation de ce dernier en anhydride sulfureux dans un courant partiel des gaz, combinaison de l'anhydride sulfureux formé avec le restant des gaz, réaction catalytique de Claus et séparation du soufre formé. On extrait l'anhydride sulfureux du courant partiel oxydé par lavage, on régenère la solution de lavage avec formation d'un courant gazeux concentré en S02 qu'on combine avec le restant des gaz contenant de l'hydrogène sulfuré, et on envoie également les gaz résiduaires de l'installation de Claus à l'oxydation du courant partiel contenant de l'hydrogène sulfuré. Le procédé selon l'invention permet de travailler sur des gaz à faible teneur en hydrogène sulfuré avec des investissements minimums et un rendement d'au moins 90,5 à 95 % en soufre élémentaire.
