Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et une installation pour recouvrir la face cylindrique externe et les deux flancs en couronne d'un produit en forme générale de tore avec un film en matière plastique thermorétractable. Le procédé est caractérisé par le fait que, dans une première phase à température ambiante, on recouvre avec le film uniquement la face cylindrique externe du produit; dans une deuxième phase, on fait subir au film au moins un cycle d'un traitement thermique discontinu combiné à un traitement mécanique. L'installation comprend un poste pour la mise en oeuvre de la première phase du procédé et un autre poste pour la mise en oeuvre de la deuxième phase du procédé. Applicable à l'emballage de produits en forme de tore.
