Abstract

The grinding mill has a plate rotatable about a vertical axis and supported by a series of shoes (26). Grinding elements e.g. runners or balls (16) roll on an annular track on the plate (12) and are pressed against the track. The plate is held laterally by a second series of shoes (32) applied against the cylindrical surface, coaxial with the track, of a flange or collar on the plate. The two series of shoes are arranged at the same level below the track and mounted on a support which is integral with the frame of the grinding mill. The chamber contg. the shoes has a pair of circular hydraulic seals to contain the lubricating oil for the shoes.
