Abstract

The equipment comprises a perforated, straining bucket which is used to separate clotted milk by draining whey through the perforations to leave curds in the bucket. The drainage takes place with the bucket mainly inside but spaced from the interior of a whey collecting vessel. The means for locating the bucket w.r.t. the vessel is now adapted to suspend the bucket at two or more different levels inside the collecting vessel. The outside wall of the bucket is pref. provided with annular sets of lugs at different heights, any set being able to support the bucket on an internal annular shoulder or top edge of the vessel. The bucket is pref. made of plastic and the lugs can be sprung elastically in a radial direction. The vessel is pref. made of glass or transparent plastic.
