Abstract
Thermal economiser for a long cement kiln includes retaining devices for the material to be treated, arranged along adjacent helicoidal tracks silicated beyond the usual chain coolers, the strand of the helicoidal traces being inverse to that of the flow of prods. in the fu rnace. Change of the step of the helicoidal path takes place immediately after the chain coolers, and is continued for the remainder of the cement clinker plant. The two ends of the helicoidal track of the retaining devices forms an angle of 90 plus-or-minus 30 degrees with each other when seen in projection on a plane perpendicular to the furnace axis. The retaining units consist of highly refractory steel castings. Thermal economiser increases the throughput of the furnace and hence the yield of cement.
