Abstract

The transportable self-elevating lattice-mast (1) has a telescopic structure and is mounted pivotably on a trailer (3). The mast elements (14A) reduce in section towards the top and slide one inside the other under the action of a cable and pulley wheel system. At least one post of each element may be provided with horizontally projecting lugs at regular vertical intervals, the lugs being engageable by a ratchet mechanism mounted on the element immediately below. A single control may effect the simultaneous operation of the several ratchet mechanisms, the pulley-cable being wound on a drum-winch (15), and the winch being operated manually or by torque governed motor.
