Abstract

The fence post is of an externally winged trapezoidal channel section with precut web holes (2) for the connection of upto three inclined stays (11, 12), the lateral stays (11) terminating in a length of cranked round section bar (7A), and the connection being of the bayonette type requiring a push and a twist. A stay end bar (7A) passes through horizontally aligned holes in the flanges of the post, each hole having diametrically opposed notches (3) in a vertical plane, and the bars having matching diametrically opposed lugs (10). Two holes at vertical intervals in each flange may accommodate the bars of two lateral stays, a bar associated with a rear stay (12) being grooved (8) to lock between a lateral stay bar (7A) and the web of the post. The stays may be fixed to cranked bar formations by a pressing process.
