Abstract

The boards are for training competitive swimmers and are fixed to the swimmers arms or legs to improve their strength. the boards are made of a material which is less dense than water, such as compressed cork or expanded polystyrene. A flap is fixed under the board at an angle of 37 degrees and this increases water resistance. The length of the flap can be varied by fixing on extra pieces. The board for the legs is shorter than that for the arms and is held on the swimmers legs by straps.
