Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un procédé et une installation de traitement en continu d'une matière cellulosique en copeaux par passage desdits copeaux dans une machine comprenant deux vis parallèles comportant des zones successives à pas différents. Selon l'invention, on fait passer la matière en continu dans une première zone de compression puis dans au moins une zone de détente avec mise au contact d'un réactif, suivie d'une seconde zone de compression. Dans chaque zone de compression la matière passe par une série de phases alternées de montée en pression dont l'importance relative augmente progressivement et de chute de pression dont l'importance relative diminue progressivement, l'ensemble du traitement provoquant une délignification au moins partielle des copeaux sans véritable défibrage mécanique. L'invention s'applique spécialement au traitement des copeaux de bois pour la fabrication de pâte à papier.
