Abstract

The artificial flower has a stem (1) with several lateral leaf stalks (22) and a calyx (12) which carries the petals (16). The stem and leaf stalks are moulded together from plastic material and are strengthened internally by flexible metallic wire (34, 36). The calyx is fixed to the moulding of the stem, near its upper extremity. The exterior surface of the extremity of the stem (14), which juts out above the calyx, is roughened and can have small hooks on it. The leaf stalks are extended to form the veins (26) of the leaves and the leaves (30) are bonded to these. The stem also has a number of thorns (32) on it.
