Abstract
In the case of electrical apparatuses which are encapsulated with insulating gas, such as SF6, it is possible for the gas to be contaminated or to become contaminated in use as a result of decomposition products during switching processes. In the case of screens (9) which are located closer to the earthed housing wall (1) than other live parts, a concentration of the electrical field takes place, and this contamination collects there. Such contamination collections can lead to the insulation breaking down in the event of surge voltages. In order to prevent this, a pot-shaped collecting container (15) is fitted at those points where the contamination collects anyway, which collecting container (15) is connected to the interior of the housing.
