Abstract

The submerged body is connected to the float by means of a cable and is fitted with its own propelling machinery. The cable is wound onto the float by means of a winch and passes ove a jib (17) fitted with jockey pulleys at each end. The jib angle is variable so that the cable height may be adjusted and act as a dampner. The submerged body may contain measuring instruments or be connected by wires to submerged fixed points.
