Abstract

The ear tag is used to identify livestock and can be used once only, comprising a male part (3) and a female (1) part. The female uses a hole (2) to form a matrix, the male having a point (4) in hard synthetic material or metal. A neck (5) is provided in the softer material of the male part and behind the point, forming a rupturable section which prevents the demounting and re-use of the tag. The rupturable section may be formed by a narrow circular groove, the angle of the point being less than fifty five degrees.

Description

 The present invention relates to the field of animal identification, by means of ear tags, and relates to such a non-reusable ear tag.

 Currently, the identification of animals by means of ear tags is very widespread. Such marks are generally produced in the form of two plates of various materials and having the most diverse shapes and dimensions. These plates are most often made of a flexible synthetic material, and one is provided with a point constituting the male element, and the other is provided with a hole forming the matrix during the perforation of the ear. , and thus the female element.

 For the establishment of these known marks, a clamp is used, in each of the branches of which can be mounted one of the elements of the mark, and which allows, after insertion of the ear flag between the branches, pierce said pavilion by means of the hard point of the male element by force application against the female element. After piercing the roof, the hard point enters the female element, crosses it, and remains fixed by a shoulder in this female element.

 However, these brands with known ears are either made of materials having poor mechanical qualities and therefore subject to rapid deterioration, or made of materials having good mechanical properties, but not making it possible to guarantee their inviolability, in particular in regarding their reuse.

 Indeed, in particular for fiscal and health reasons, it is essential that such an ear tag has a single use, and therefore that it cannot be detached from the ear of an animal to be placed on that from another animal.

 The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks.

 It has, in effect, for an ear mark in flexible synthetic material, essentially constituted by a female part provided with a hole forming the matrix, and by a male part provided with a point in hard synthetic material, or in metal , characterized in that the male part is provided, under the hard point, with a breaking section in the flexible material preventing disassembly and reuse of the mark.

 According to a characteristic of the invention, the rupture section is constituted by a circular groove of very small thickness.

 The invention will be better understood thanks to the description below, which relates to a preferred embodiment, given by way of nonlimiting example, and explains with reference to the appended schematic drawing, the single figure of which is a partial view in section of an ear tag according to the invention.

 As shown in the accompanying drawing, the ear tag made of synthetic material, essentially constituted by a female part 1 provided with a hole 2 forming the matrix for the perforation of the ear, and by a male part 3 provided with a point 4 in hard synthetic material or in metal, for example in the form of an insert, is characterized in that the male part 3 is provided, under the hard tip 4, in the flexible material, with a breaking section 5, which prevents any dismantling of the mark after its installation and its reuse.

 The rupture section 5 is advantageously in the form of a throat of very small thickness, the depth of which is such that the mark resists an effort of accidental tearing, but does not resist a voluntary tearing, with a view to re-use of the mark on a different animal, the male part 3 then being sheared at the level of the groove 5.

 In accordance with another characteristic of the invention, the angle of the tip 4 denetting the cartilaginous tissue of the ear of the animal is less than 55 ", thus making it possible to reduce the imDortance of 7a perforation and therefore to increase the holding of the mark This angle is more acute than that of the points of the known marks which is 60 or 70, and which therefore causes greater perforation with a tear detrimental to the holding of the mark.

 Thanks to the invention, it is possible to make an ear tag for the identification of animals which absolutely does not allow reuse, and thus prevents any fraud.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawing. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements, or by substitution of technical equivalents, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
