Abstract

The removable partition having two parallel walls is installed using rails secured to the floor, ceiling and walls which consist of two U-shaped channels of different widths, one placed centrally inside the other to form two parallel slots into which the edges of the panels locate. Posts extend perpendicularly from the rails and consist of identical parts secured back to back to form longitudinal slits. Joint covers clip into the longitudinal slit of a corresponding post to hold the panels in place and provide a finished external appearance.

Description

 The present invention relates to partitions of the double panel type leaving a space between them often used to house an insulator, to pass electrical or other pipes.

 Currently, to mount such partitions, numerous assembly elements are used, in particular profiles for use of beams, posts, joint covers, etc. Some profiles are intended to form the framework of the partition, and others, the visible parts, such as plinths, strips, vertical caulking, joint covers. In the present memory, we call frame all the profiles , that is to say both the framework and the visible parts. Currently we are making thin sheet metal frames made up of a relatively large number of very complex profile models, but these frames are unsuitable for double panel partitions. In addition, during installation, installers must use many additional independent parts, including various clips.

According to the invention, these drawbacks are overcome by making removable partitions with double panels subject to the masonry and between them using profiled sheet metal elements; this subjection is obtained using three categories of elements: beams, posts, joint covers, the beams fixed to the floor, ceiling and wall being all identical and made up of two "U" profiles of different widths fixed one inside the other so as to determine between their wings two lateral grooves in which the edges of the panels are embedded3 the posts made up of two identical profiles form two central recesses fixed back to back and a recess at each end determining a longitudinal slot , the whole being of a width slightly less than the distance between the wings of the small profile of the rails, the joint covers made up of a single profile form both the visible area and the clip placed under it, clip that recessed in the slot of the corresponding post.

 The elements are made of cold galvanized and / or prepainted steel profiles, which are cut to the desired length.

The "U" profiles constituting the heddle each have in their bottom an axial recess open downward, of dimensions such that the recess of the small profile serves as a housing for the rib corresponding to 1 t recess of the large profile, the latter recess being filled with an elastic band. Thus when the small profile is placed in the large one, the recesses serve as a guide.

The assembly of the two profiles forms a single element serving both as a framework and as visible parts. Depending on the location of the heddle, the outer areas of the wings of the large profile serve as plinths, strips or vertical caulking.

 The framework of the partition comprises posts to be placed between two beams facing each other (between floor and ceiling) and each post consists of two identical sheet metal profiles forming two central dovetail cavities, fixed back to back and a cavity at each end, having a longitudinal passage (slit), this passage is delimited by the free edges facing the sheets constituting the profiles, and determining slightly elastic wings along said passage.

 The width of the two sections of the post is equal to or slightly less than the width of the small section of the rail.

The joint cover is also a sheet metal profile with a visible (external) surface and a longitudinal clip hidden below. On each side of the deck, the sheet was folded flat to the middle, then folded (inwards) in the shape of a "V", with however lips directed towards the axial plane so as to facilitate the introduction clip in the post slot. The height of the "V" depends on the thickness provided for the panels.

The beam shown in Fig. 1 consists of a first "U" profile referenced 1 in which is fixed by any known means a second "U" profile, 2, of smaller width and appreciably lesser height, of approximately two sheet thicknesses The base of each profile has a recess 1 ', 2'. The two sections 1 and 2 are inseparable and constitute the top and bottom rail, which is provided on its bottom with an insulating elastic band, preferably a self-adhesive foam band. This element can also be attached to a vertical wall from a partition.

Fig. 2 shows the post consisting of two identical 7-7 'sheet metal profiles, assembled back to back by their central area 8-8'. On each side of this range, the sheet is folded more than 900 to determine a recess 9 (or 9 ') of dovetail type. Then the sheet is folded about 90 to determine an inclined range 10-11 (or 10 'îi'), then at a sharp angle to form wings 12-13 (or 12'- 13 ') perpendicular to the ranges 8 (or 8 '). On one side the edges or lips 14-14 'facing each other determine the slot 15, and on the other side the edges 16-16' facing each other determine the slot 17.

 Fig. 2 shows equal the joint cover 18 which includes a central area 19 under which, and on both sides 20-21, the sheet is folded down approximately to the axis where it is folded to determine the branches 22-23 d 'a "7T. The ends 24025 of these branches are folded inwards towards the inside of the V" which is slightly elastic and allows the entire joint cover to be clipped onto the post.  For the installation of the partition, the beams and the posts are first fixed. If only one panel height is placed between the floor and the ceiling, this height must be equal to the floor-ceiling distance minus the height of a smooth or slightly more. We first thread the upper edge of a panel into a groove in the upper rail by compressing the strip therein, then push the panel back and let it slide into the corresponding groove in the lower rail where it rests on strips or rules for the use of shims provided for this purpose, which makes it possible to make up for dimensional deviations during implementation.

The height of these shims is variable according to the deviations and is generally substantially equal to half the height of the heddle. To maintain the edges of the panels applied to the uprights, joint covers are used.

 Thus the panel 26 being in place, its vertical border is applied to the wing 12 where it is retained by the joint cover 18 which also retains the panel 27. Similarly the panels 28-29 are applied to the wings 13 -13 'and retained by the joint cover î8'. Advantageously between the panels 26-28 and 27-29 is placed an insulator, such as volcanic rock wool.

 The cold-profiled frame elements according to the invention have the advantage of elasticity. Thus by inserting the clip of a joint cover 18 into the slot 15 of a post, the said slot 15 is substantially enlarged while the branches 22-23.dn. "V" of the clip are tightening.

Then after installation, on the one hand the branches 22-23 of the V ", and on the other hand the lips 14-14 'of the slot 15, return to their rest position; which provides great ease of mounting, then a very solid fixing of the assembly.

 The structural elements described above have been shown in FIG. 1 and 2 for securing ordinary panels, but they can be used differently and in particular for fixing glazing as shown in FIG. 3 and 4.

Fig. 3 shows a wall rail provided with a glazing bead 30 with seal 31-32. The glazing bead 30 is also a profile with slightly elastic edges 30 ′.  The device according to the invention makes it possible to construct partitions forming a right angle between them, and in particular double-glazed partitions.

For this purpose, the profile 7 'is provided with a glazing bead 40 with its joints 41-42. The assembly constitutes the post referenced 43 applied against the panes 44-45 against the elastic joints 46-47 integral with the glazing beads 48-49 forming part of another post referenced 50. The post 43 then serves as joint cover to the post 50 for securing the panes 44-45. To ensure the fixing of the posts between them, one slides into the recess 51 of the post 50, the tata 52 of a screw or a bolt (or similar) then pass its threaded rod through the slots provided for this purpose, in the glazing bead 4o and the areas 8-8 'of the profiles 7 7', and a nut 54 is tightened.
