Abstract

The wood burning stove has a refractory-lined combustion chamber with a hermetically sealed side door through which the stove is charged. The door has a circular draught regulator to control the rate of burning. Above the combustion chamber is an air reservoir and above that an exhaust gas heat exchanger. Fresh air is supplied to the reservoir (2) through inlets (5) where it is heated by direct radiation before being discharged into the room through outlets. The products of combustion pass over the secondary heat exchanger tubes before entering the chimney. Fresh air passing through the tubes is heated and discharged into the room.

Description

The present invention relates to heating stoves powered by wood, achieving a significant energy saving and allowing to keep a fire for several days.

In the various known techniques of this type of heating, the heat goes directly into the chimney with the smoke, resulting in significant heat losses.

The proposed stove has an air tank (2) supplied with cold air by intakes under the stove (5). This tank is heated directly by the flame of the hearth (1) the hot air is diffused in the room (6 The smoke leaving towards the route, bypasses the tank from the front (3) and heats a series of tubes (4) which diffuse the hot air in the room.

The hermetically sealed door and draft system allow the wood to burn slowly and keep the fire burning for more than 24 hours.

All parts are made of 3mm sheet metal, assembled by welding and riveting. The bottom and rear of the hearth are covered with 25mm refractory bricks. The loading is done laterally. The pulling is done by an adjustable opening in the door.

The hearth (1) directly heats the diffuser recuperating air tank (2) supplied with cold air by the intakes under the stove (5). This heated air is diffused through the openings on the front and top of the stove (6 ).

The hot smoke passes through the front (3) and heats the tubes of the second recuperator (4) before entering the chimney, so the smoke has released much of its heat before being evacuated.

This stove can allow significant savings in fuelwood and thus prevent the destruction of the wood capital of France.
