Abstract
The heat exchanger is made from a plate which is spirally wound about a central axis (8) around a central core (6). The plate is fabricated from two plates joined together with parallel passages (1) connected by end manifolds. The passages are intended to accommodate one fluid while the other fluid flows along the main central axis, over the plates. The exchanger is fitted with a header plate at each end to collect the fluid flowing along the spiral. Intermediate grooves in the plate add to the turbulence.
