Abstract

The car-transporter vehicle has a lower load platform with a supporting structure near one end. The structure hinges at one end at a point on the platform, and at the other end has a frame supporting the wheels of one of the car axles. The structure can be moved by a drive between the lower loading and the upper travel positions. The car is supported in a plane inclined to the vehicle load platform. A second supporting structure (40) hinges at one end on the load platform (12), and has at the other a second supporting frame (54) for the other pair of car wheels. At its centre this second support has a linkage (44,46) coupling it to the first support.
