Abstract

The machine has a demountable and rotatable mandrel (15) upon which the tube (T) is mounted. A cotter pin (16) secures the mandrel (15) on a driven stub axle (11), and a cam (17) of the sectional tube (T) profile is mounted on the axle by the mandrel end (33). A revolving drum with radial cutting discs (24) is mounted on a parallel horizontal axle (29) directly above the mandrel axis, the axle (29) locating a circular idling cam-follower (23). A vertical ram is used to apply the cutting drum and the follower (23) to the tube (T) and the cam (17) to control the depth of cut.
