Abstract

The assembly converts a wheeled vehicle to a tracked one. It has a frame with a pair of side tracks with guides (8) for the vehicle wheels. The driving wheels (33) work with a drive mechanism to drive the tracks (5). The vehicle front wheels (46) brake one track or the other according to the direction in which they are turned. The guides are U-section rails fixed on the chassis inner side longitudinals. They have a length less than that of the wheelbase of the vehicle to be converted. The drive includes a differential, half shafts and track chain wheels.
