Abstract

Used in the application of screeds to walls or floors in building construction, the spatula type double bladed hand tool serves both to determine the screed thickness and to obtain a smooth finish. A prim. blade (1) is approximately rectangular, having two bolt holes (7) and an inclined lesser side. A slotted round section timber piece (2) is fitted to the shorter long edge to form a handle, the opposite edge including pairs of half round notches (9,10) at regular intervals. The sec. blade (3) has a similar shape with a lesser depth, having twin slot holes (11,12) parallel to the short square side and aligning with holes (7), and having uniform prongs (4) projecting normally from the long edge. The prongs coincide with and are of the same width as the teeth defined by each notch pair (9,10). Bolts with butterfly nuts (5) connect the blades (1,3) when superimposed, the tool being used with prongs.
