Abstract

The safety device prevents persons, and small children in partic., from touching the hot parts of a stove or upsetting the pots cooking on it. It comprises a guard extending along the front and the two sides. It can be so designed as to allow fitting and removal in a few seconds, the sides also folding against the front part for storage. The front can be adjustable for length, to suit stoves of different dimensions. The guard can be formed by a grille, perforated metal sheet, glass or plastics panel etc., preventing hands from passing through.
