Abstract

The mechanism transports board between an upstream machine performing continuous cyclical operations and a down-stream one functioning in a different manner, and equipped with a drive mechanism at the inlet. Endless belts run in synchronism with the board travel rate through the upstream machine, and have dogs acting against the board rear edges. A device (8) swings each dog (23) into the active position protruding above the belts (1), or retracts it below them. Retraction takes place immediately after the leading edge of a board (16) has entered the drive mechanism (11, 14) of the downstream machine (25).
