Abstract

A circular demountable adaptor (9) is used to support a disposable paper disc (27) whilst permitting the through flow of air. An annular adaptor rim (10) supports the active annular disc area. It has radial ribs (19) defining air ducts (20) to the perimeter, and is overlain by a bonded spreader disc (24). The latter disc serves to prevent rib outlines being pressed through to the paper disc, and may have radial striations (26) preventing the disc from sliding. The adaptor has a centre cup with circumferential (12, 13) and radial ribs (14, 18) matching this form.
