Abstract

The integral connector is used to make a right angled corner joint between two furniture panels (1, 2) using a threaded stud with nuts incorporated in each panel. One nut (7) has a longitudinally grooved cylindrical barrel accessable through a window (12), and which allows manual tightening of the joint. A nut is immobilised in a blind perpendicular bore in a major face edge zone to one panel (1). A second nut (7) is incorporated in a hollow part-cylindrical plug (6) with barrel grooves (14). The plug (6) is fixed in a blind bore in the counter panel (2), and connected to an offset plug (29) by a tapered face plate (28). An initially threaded diametric blind bore (8) receives the stud, enlarging internally to locate the rotatable nut (7). It has a lateral access window (12). The nut (7) is of the axially split type, rotated once the stud engages the fixed nut, to draw the panels together.
