Abstract

The fastener secures the hinged leg of a collapsible table in the vertical deployed position, using an angle iron (1) which is bolted (4) beneath the table top (T) and which serves to locate the leg vertically. Each leg may have two vertical members (V) connected by rails (R) at the head and the bottom third point. The top of each member (V) is fixed to a hinge strap (S). An unequal angle iron (5) is fixed beneath the top rail, being bored (6) to locate a bolt (7), and inc. a bar (9) which locks e.g. a hexagonal bolt head against rotation. When the leg is vertical the bolt (7) enters a vertical open ended slot (1A) in the down-turned flange of the primary angle iron (1), and is secured by a butterfly nut (8).
