Abstract

The pool (20) is surrounded on all sides by the terrace (21) which in turn is surrounded by the channel (22). The terrace material and the stream of water between it act as a solar energy collector. The peripheral channel (22) has an outflow channel (25) leading to the shaft sump or chimney (24), both the latter being covered by paving slabs (29). The bottom of the shaft (26) is lower than the bottom of the pool (27) and is connected to it by the inclined conduit (28), while the flow of water round the system is maintained by the float (37) and entry supply pipe (36) and by the suction pipe (30) and filter (31).
