Abstract

The cylindrical vessel wall moulded in a synthetic material such as polypropylene, enclosing the cells of a pressure filter, consists of an inner drum which seals the filter chamber and an outer drum fixed to the inner drum and mechanically reinforcing it. The inner drum, the outer drum, and the connecting rib structure and in one piece and there are hollow cavities between the outer and the inner drum which are laid out so as to for circulating tubes for a cooling medium. The cylindrical vessel consists of a number of modules staked one on top of the other; each module consisting of an inner sealing drum and an outer reinforcing drum. Between each module expansion joints are provided, and these joints may be of a tongue and groove type, with the modules locked together by tie rods. To produce a filter vessel in plastic material capable of withstanding the action of hot chemical substances at approximately 100 degrees C and pressures of 4 bar.
