Abstract

Telephone and TV signals are transmitted locally to a subscriber using a common network system in which electronic circuits permit combination or separation of the signals. Remote alarm and signalling may also be transmitted. A coaxial cable (1) distributes TV and FM signals by multiplexing. An intermediate station comprises a preamplifier (2) and mixer (3) which drives an amplifier (4) whose output feeds a connecting cable (5). A distribution unit (6) distributes signals to subscribers via a matching circuit (21) which connects to the FM receiver (24) and TV (23) and via a multiplexer (25) to the telephone (26) or to special equipment (27). The distribution unit (6) also connects to telephone lines (7) via sharing units (10, 16) and a concentrater (8).
