Abstract

The pouring stopper has a spigot (1) forming part of the stopper proper, fitting inside the spout of the bottle etc (2). A hollow cap (8) with an opening at the top has internal axial teeth (10) which can be held pressed against a collar (3) formed at the upper end of the spigot. The spigot, together with the cap, is held on the spout by means of a sleeve (11) on the outside of the latter. The spigot and cap together form a chamber for two sealing members (6, 12) one above the other and movable in the axial direction, and each with radial feet (7, 13). These form a chamber for a ball (5). When the vessel is placed on a horizontal surface, the sealing members bearing against top and bottom seats in the spigot, but on inversion the lower one moves under gravity towards the end of the spout and the ball pushes the upper one in the same direction.
