Abstract

A pipe clamp for rapidly fitting pipes to walls consists of two essentially semi-circular segments (1a, 1b) to fix round the pipe, clamped by one bolt (6) which passes through the radially outward turned ends (5a, 5b). The other ends are fastened together by a tongue (8a), pressed from the end of the segment which is fitted to the wall, locating to the wall, locating in a slot in the end of the outer segment and so forming a hook and eye. A rectangular projection (3a) is pressed outwards from the segment which is fixed to the wall and a slot cut in the projection. This slot accepts the screw which fixes the clamp to the wall and allows a considerable degree of misalignment of the bolt holes. In cross-section, the clamp segments are a flattened U, which provides rigidity and allows production from metal sheet.
