Abstract

The parachute of controllable type permits sideways motion or drift without rotation. At least three windows or ports are cut into the fabric of the parachute itself. The windows are so arranged that there is at least one on each side of the parachute mid line. They are each connected to a control line (8) in such a way that they may be symmetrically deformed in relation to their radial axis of symmetry. The angular disposition of the windows on the parachute varies with the number of windows present.
