Abstract

The fuel level indicator consists of an electrically operated display unit, and a pair of contacts in series with a voltage source. They close when the fuel reserve in the tank drops below a minimum level, and open again when the fuel level rises. An electric component (10) delays the display unit (1) response when the contacts (4, 8) close, but permits immediate disconnection of the display unit (1) when the contacts open again. The electrical connections of the indicator instrument are connected to a positive source, e. e. the vehicle battery, and earth, i. e. the vehicle chasis. A third connection leads to a resistor (3) by means of a cable (2).
