Abstract

The pneumatic oscillator is adjustable within a frequency range, and is esp. for use as a drive for lubricant piston pumps. The oscillator consits of a piston (71), a reversing valve and a hydraulic brake unit (62, 72, 74). During the working stroke, the piston is charged with pressurized air on one side, and is displaceable against a return spring (86). The reversing valve is automatically reversed in its end positions, and during the return stroke, produces a pressure equalization between both sides of the piston. The brake unit is connected to the piston, is adjustable, and is active only during the return stroke. The oscillator may be used as a drive for a lubricant displacement pump (63, 64, 66), e.g. a single acting piston pump, and the brake unit may be separate from the lubricant circuit.
