Abstract

The roller blind assembly comprises a shaft adapted to be held in non-rotatable manner by a supporting bracket, a core for the blind and in which the shaft is housed, a journal member held non-rotatably relative to the core but rotatably relative to the shaft and a spring interconnecting the shaft and journal member so as to be capable of biasing these two parts towards relative rotation. The blind is characterised in that it includes a locking mechanism comprising at least one hard element freely movable in an outwardly extending passage defined by the journal member, and a surface carried by the shaft, the surface and element being arranged to act as a pawl and ratchet assembly.
