Abstract

The device comprises a frame bearing an endless runner which extends transversely above the conveyor, movable grippers mounted on the runner, and an endless chain to which are fixed the grippers and means for intermittently displacing the chain. The sheets are successively passed to a loading station where each one is placed in a gripper, a holding and natural crease-removing station located above and on one side of the conveyor, and a release station located above the conveyor near the other side. Perpendicular to the crease-removing station and at the level of the conveyor is a device for aligning the verticla edge of each sheet which is suspended from a gripper, in a transverse reference plane.
