Abstract

The plastic plug is used for attaching objects to relatively thin walls or partitions where there is no access to the other surface. The plug (1) has a central hole having a double taper (5) (6). The outer surface is provided with longitudinal ridges (4) with sharp peaks. Two diametrically opposite slots (7) extend from the lower end for about two thirds of the length. The slots (7) allow the plug to deform sufficiently so that it can be easily fitted into a hole in the wall. When the fixing bolt is pushed into the tapered hole (5) (6) the plug is expanded and the ridges (4) bite into the wall surface to provide a firm grip.
