Abstract

Transversely extending, parallel, telescopic tubes are closely mounted above a perforated conveyor on which the web is carried. The tubes are connected to a blower for delivering vapour or air through the tubes under pressure. The outer end of each tube has a movable nozzle for directing a jet of air or vapour against the selvedge of web forcing the flat against the conveyor. Transverse adjustment of the nozzles is possible to deal with webs of various widths. Appts, is adjustable so webs of various widths are accommodated.
