Abstract

A dampening device (5) with a water supply (7) and with a dampening roller (10) is arranged in the guide track for the pressing material in front of the pressing unit consisting of the pressing bowl (1) and of the pressing roller (3). The top side of the dampening device (5) is foldable, so that the releasably mounted dampening roller (10) can be taken out of the water supply, for example in order to remove laundry lint. The dampening device can be attached as a constructional unit to the frame of the pressing machine or to the existing feed board.
