Abstract

The scraper consists of a cylindrical core (1). This core is held at the ends between two brackets. Each bracket has a slot in it so that the scraper can move in the slot. The scraper is spring loaded against the tension in the belt. The scraper is fitted with a number of helically mounted ribs (4), which are rivetted (6) to the cylindrical core of the scraper. Each rib is cut into a number of equal segments which are independently flexible. The scraper operates on the return side of the belt which is kept under tension by means of a jockey pulley.
