Le manche 4 et la butée 6 coopèrent l'un avec l'autre ; l'un d'eux présente une cavité 5 coaxiale à l'outil et l'autre présente un corps 8 engagé de façon réglable dans la cavité 5, des moyens étant prévus sur le manche et/ou la butée pour positionner et bloquer celle-ci. Application aux instruments d'alésage de canaux radiculaires.
