Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de granules de fer réduit contenant une forte quantité de fer métallique. Selon l'invention on forme un mélange de poussière contenant du fer et de matière charbonneuse sans matière volatile, le rapport du nombre d'atomes de carbone libres à celui d'atomes d'oxygène liés au fer, au zinc ou au plomb dans le mélange étant ajusté à 0,75-1,25; on ajoute 0,5-7 pour cent de bentonite en poids sur la base du mélange; on granule le mélange tout en ajoutant de l'eau pour que les granules verts résultants contiennent 9,5-15,6 pour cent d'eau; on préchauffe les granules verts à une température telle que le carbone ne brûle pas tandis que l'eau est enlevée; on réduit chimiquement les granules secs dans un four rotatif. According to the invention, a mixture of dust containing iron and carbonaceous material without volatile matter is formed, the ratio of the number of free carbon atoms to that of oxygen atoms bound to iron, zinc or lead in the mixture being adjusted to 0.75-1.25; 0.5-7 percent bentonite by weight is added based on the mixture; the mixture is granulated while adding water so that the resulting green granules contain 9.5-15.6 percent water; preheating the green granules to a temperature such that the carbon does not burn while the water is removed; the dry granules are chemically reduced in a rotary kiln. The attached curve shows the effectiveness of bentonite in increasing the compressive strength of dry granules. The invention applies in particular to the recovery of dust from blast furnaces or from steelworks or from steel plants.
