Abstract
The process derives corrugated metal sheet for an originally plane sheet (1) with one or more straight edges. The sheet (1) is fastened on a matrix (2) on a substantial base plate (3) and the assembly (1, 2, 3) is submerged in a firing (4) pit. A vacuum is then created in the voids between the sheet (1) and the matrix ( ), and finally a controlled explosion is initiated in the pit. The force of the explosion is transmitted to the water (5) which deforms the sheet (1) onto the matrix (2). The assembly (1, 2, 3) is then removed from the matrix (2). The explosive charges (6) are of a remote controlled type and are placed above the sheet (1) in concentrations over the voids in the matrix (2).
