Abstract
The locksmiths tool comprises a magnetisable probe and opens a magnetic lock in the absence of the key. The lock has sliding magnetic pins of varying polarity. The rotor has an axial keyhole into which the probe is introduced, and the probe is magnetised by the solenoid. The tool may comprise a 'U' shaped electro-magnet with the solenoid windings on the curved sector and the legs coming together to form the probe. The current may be supplied by a dry battery and be controlled by a trigger-switch.
