Abstract

The steam supply control is intended for a metering pump or valve for handling viscous media, which have to be kept germ free such as milk etc, whereby the piston rods(8, 9) are surrounded by a steam lock. Above the effective stroke area(2) of the two coaxially movable pistons(3, 4) the cylinder(1) has a purging chamber(5) which receives the pistons and has a closable outlet(6). The piston rod(9) of the closure piston(4) extends through the space(7) in the hollow piston rod(8) of the metering piston(3). The steam enters through an inlet(10) at the top of the space(7) and leaves through an outlet(11) above the piston(3) at the bottom. The OD of the rod(8) is the ID of the cylinder(1) or valve.
