Abstract

New industrial prod. consists of light, non-flammable construction materials or elements, moulded in phenolic resin foam. Such as element contains a foam core the outer layer of which is reinforced by >=1 non-woven synthetic fibre material, and has a perfectly smooth surface skin of phenolic resin. The construction element is pref. moulded from a resol based compsn. giving a phenolic foam with density of 30-40 g/l, a coefficient of thermal conductibility of 0.032.0.035 watt/m/degrees C, a mechanical resistance in compression of 1-1.3 bars; the non-woven material has a wt. of 50-500 g/m2. The prod. can be mfd. by injecting or casting a resol-based compsn. into a mould on the 4 faces of which are applied pieces of non-woven material of suitable shape, which are fixed on the faces during the assembling of the mould.
