Abstract

The engine carburettor has a throttle (2) in the suction duct (1) to control the flow and an upstream mixing chamber (4) with a fuel supply opening (6). Upstream of the opening there are fuel evaporation means consisting of a heating chamber (7), with inlet (15) and outlet (16) for a heating medium, whose wall (8) acts as heat exchange surface for liquid fuel flowing around it. The heating chamber is in the centre of the duct (1) and is surrounded by an outer wall (9), the fuel (10) flowing between the two walls. The outer wall forms an annular duct (5) inside the duct wall leading the mixing chamber (4). The fuel opening is annular and lies at the transition from the duct to the chamber.
