Abstract

The wood burner for sawdust or shavings, has a combustion chamber with an elongated metal member extending between its inlet and outlet to transfer the heat of combustion from the outlet region to the inlet region. This forms part of a system to improve combustion. The chamber includes a grid to slow the entry of the fuel under the action of a forced draught. These members are interconnected by a hollow perforated cylinder, with one end closed and the other end fitting into the circular discharge opening. This cylinder has cooling channels along it for secondary air for combustion. The closed end has a groove around it to connect the channels to the secondary air supply tube.
