Abstract
The electrolysis process involves the circulation of a dispersed electrode within the cell. The dispersed electrode is formed of a suspension in the electrolyte of conducting particles. The elimination of the separator between electrodes is based on the fact that the reactions taking place at the opposite poles of an electrolytic cell proceed at different rates. The polarity of the dispersed electrode depends on the direction of the reaction proceeding at the faster rate. The cell is suitable in general for all oxidn. or redn. reactions and partic. for electro-synthesis reactions or for the destruction or elimination of toxic cpds. or pollutants contained in effluents. The elimination of the separator avoids the current drop between the electrodes. A dispersed electrode increases the efficiency of the operation.
